Direct Cremation
Unattended Direct Cremation
(also now known as ‘Pure Cremation’) at a LOCAL crematorium.
An unattended direct cremation is simply the provision of a low cost, unattended cremation without a funeral ceremony.
Unattended direct cremation is also an option where all possible attendees are scattered around the country, or the world, or are physically unable to gather.
An unattended direct cremation includes arrangements and all necessary documentation, collection of the deceased person in working hours, a traditional coffin and cremation at a local crematorium.
Although no family or friends are present, the deceased person is always cremated with all due reverence, respect and dignity by one of our funeral directors.
When a loved one comes into the care of Nicholas E Potts & Daughter we acknowledge the level of trust that is being placed in us and we pledge to care for them with dignity and respect, in the same way that we would if they were a member of our own family.
The direct cremation can often be explained best as a pared-down service designed for people who do not want a ceremony at the time of the cremation. It can also be known as a simple cremation. The ashes can be returned to the family and, if desired, a memorial service can be held at a later date.
This type of funeral is the simplest and least expensive we offer, given that there is no formal ceremony at the committal.
Unlike many other nationally advertised direct cremation packages that use a van, we include the use of a hearse unless otherwise advised.
The committal will take place at a time and date at our convenience, usually at Earlham Crematorium.
